My writing career started late in life, in my mid-fifties. I thought many times through my life that I wanted to write a children's story or the great American novel, but never did. One day, I was at the Library with a friend who needed to go every week and I was bored. She was working on the computer, and I sat down at another computer and decided to write that story. What would I write? My granddaughter loved Dragons. I started writing my first book entitled, "The Dragon that Got the Fairy Godmother to Like Vegetables." My granddaughter also hates vegetables! I wrote the book in two hours. Every week we would go to the Library and I would write another book. Each one took about two hours to write, then some editing. We stopped going to the Library, but I continued writing at home. Two years later I now have seven published books, with four more with my publisher to be released sometime in 2021. I have written picture themed books for children under the age of eight, three small chapter books, and two novels for teens. Needless to say, the chapter books and the novels take a lot more time to write. I started writing longer books to give my Publisher, Bob Scott, time to catch up, and actually focus on his other clients. It became a weekly joke when I would get a message from him on Friday asking if there would be a book in his email from me on Monday. There usually was.
My family, including our animals, has been my motivation and I get ideas for stories from things that interest my family. My mother, who has passed on, was a great storyteller. My kids loved to hear her crazy gnome stories that she would just make up as she told them. I guess she would be where my talent came from. I wish she lived long enough for us to get those gnome stories into books for children. Fortunately, my parents were still alive as my books became published, (or some of them. I would email my stories to my mother and she would read them before I even sent them to the publisher. She was a great supporter of my writing. My grandchildren like my books. It is a great feeling to be holding a book you wrote and then reading it to your own grandchild.
My books are all available on Amazon and other online booksellers. Please leave a review on the site of the webstore you purchase the book. if you like my books, or your child does. I have a Facebook account under My Stories. Leave me a message on Facebook, or in the comment section here. You can also Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
These are the books that have been published by Bob Scott Publishing. As I said earlier, there are four more being released in 2021, as of right now anyway. I am busy writing my first great American Novel!
